Aarohi woke up and her eyes fell on the clock, her eyes widened immediately.
10 AM?!?! She had to attend classes at 9:40 AM. She immediately rushed and got ready, slipping breakfast.
Well, today all of her family members have left for a relatives wedding, she couldn't go because of her upcoming exams. She huffed almost angry and impatient, as she grabbed her bag rushing out to the car.
She was in such a hurry and haze, she started the car driving off immediately at a fast speed. And, then she encountered heavy traffic on the road. She wanted to slam her head somewhere. She reversed the car, running through a narrow route to reach college early. She used this narrow route everytime she was late, and typically her family has warned her.
Because it was not safe for a girl to go through that route alone, even in the car. And suddenly she slammed breaks because a sleek black car was standing at the turning point of the narrow route.
Her eyes narrowed since the car occupied the whole space and she wouldn't be able to get further, she rolled down the window and looked out to spot no one. She murmured something under her breathe, probably a curse.
She walked out of the car, but suddenly the cool breeze hit her.. And she felt guilty for cursing the person who owned that car. It wasn't their fault.
Because, she only looks fierce, but is more soft-hearted. She hesitantly stepped towards the car, walking to the driver's side. As she gulped, knocking on the window.
The window rolled down, it was a man.. With a cigarette in his hand, talking to someone on call.
She almost forgot how to speak when she laid her eyes on him, he looked ethereal.. As if out of this world. But she felt more scared, his eyes were dark and dominating, and she immediately felt Inimidated
Come on, Aarohi just say it that you want him to move his car ahead, so you can go ahead!
She opened her mouth to speak, but he signalled with his finger to keep quiet.. She shut her mouth, looking down.. Nervously fidgeting the end of her dupatta. He was on a call with someone and his voice was so deep, she gulped, feeling scared too.
𝘋𝘪𝘥 𝘐 𝘳𝘶𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦?
Because, the way his gaze lingered over her made her feel dominated. The air around him was sharp and cold. The cigarette between his finger was constantly producing smoke which made her scrunch her nose slightly at the smell. She's never been a fan of smoking or drinking. She felt as if he wasn't going to end the call any sooner. She just sighed getting sad, and now she knew she will miss her college today.
She stepped back as she turned to move back to my car, she took a few steps and a soft gasp left left lips when she realized her dupatta was stuck somewhere, she held it immediately and turned back to see where it was stuck.
She froze, he was the one who has holding her dupatta.
𝘞-𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵? 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘩-𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵?
Her eyes widened slightly as he started folding her dupatta in his fist, Unwillingly, she stumbled back to the window of the car cause if she wouldn't have stepped back, the dupatta would have slipped from her shoulder
She gulped, he stared at her directly in the eye and that's when he hang up the call and gave her his full attention, she stammered
She murmured, "m-mera dupatta c-chhodiye"
(Leave m-my scarf)
He leaned closer and said, "Agar nahi chhoda toh kya karogi?"
(And what if I dont leave it)
She gulped, literally scared now as he said, "daro mt, batao kya kehne aayi thi?"
(Dont be scared, what did you come here to tell?)
She said, "mai keh rahi thi aap apni car ko aage le lete, toh mai college jaa paati"
(I was saying, if you move your car forward I would be able to go to college)
He said, "achha, toh yeh rasta kyun? Main road bhi toh tha na?"
(So, why this road? Main road was also there, wasn't it?)
She said, "a-aap sawal jawab mt kariye mujhe jaane dijiye"
(Dont ask m-me questions, let me go)
Shw tried to pull her dupatta this time and he let her. She moved back to her car when she heard him say, "dubara yeh rasta istemaal mat krna, sab tumhe meri tarah jaane nhi denge"
(Dont use this road again, not everyone will let you go like me)
She nodded immediately and was about to go but he said, "college jaa rhi ho?" She nodded my head as he interrupted again, "sunday ke din jhaadu pocha krne?"
(Going to college?)
(On Sunday, to sweep and mop?)
She gasped as her eyes widened slightly, She totally forgot it was sunday today, She muttered something incoherent under her breathe as she heard him chuckle, her lower lip stuck out slightly.
Since, her family isn't here she's been facing problems like this. She's so damn forgetful sometimes. She rushed to her car, she could feel his dark gaze on my back.
𝘏𝘦'𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨.
He said, "just dont use this road again" And before she could even turn her head he had already drove away. She pressed her lips tightly, getting in the car, as she grumbled being all pouty and driving back home.
She didn't even realize she was sweating, she wiped my forehead with the end of her dupatta, and suddenly she froze.. It smells like strong cologne, maybe his. It's such a strong smell yet attractive.
She groaned taking off her dupatta, putting it on the empty passenger seat beside her.
Rudransh watched her from a distance as he drove away, his eyes stuck on the rear view mirror watching her drive her car back. He chuckled darkly.
𝘋𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰?
She just happened to amuse him. He thought, she was either dumb or way too smart, for using that rarely used narrow road.
Because all the land near the main market and highway belonged to Rathores , and if anyone else besides him would have seen her, he does not want to imagination what would their prideful asses do to her for just using a narrow road.
Rathores were way too proudy. But being a Rathore himself, he found it slightly irritating.
He knew, it was just a road. But the other members in his family, his gaze darkened because they were too prideful to let anyone use the road around their lands.
Anf this narrow road belonged to Rathores. And that's the reason, that this narrow road was rarely used by people.
And to be honest, he was surprised deep down, how did she even know about this road?
He just clenched his jaw, driving to his office. She looked soft and innocent, and a bit messy too.. He can't help but think a but about her.. his thoughts lingered back to her kajal which was smeared a bit too much.
He knew, she was surely a slight dumb one because come on who dares to go to a man's car in a lonely road just to ask him move forward?
A slight worry tugged at his heart. He didn't even know why.. But he just wished that she would never use that road. It was just way too dangerous.. for someone innocent like her.
He reached the parking lot, moving out of his car. As he grabbed the flower bouquet from the empty passenger seat. As he walked in his office, cold and calm.
Pushing his cabin's door, he entered.. Only to find his PA laying on her stomach on the couch as she fluttered her feets in the air, working on laptop. A small relief washed over him, why not?
𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙, 𝙎𝙞𝙮𝙖 𝙏𝙞𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙞.
Sometimes, he can't help but feel guilty slightly. They've been in a relationship over the past 3 years. He loved her, atleast that's what he told himself.
But, something at the back of his mind told him, he was with her out of empathy.
He had convince himself that she holds his heart and it belongs to her, but he didn't feel like it. Something was always missing.

Rudransh stopped at a bridge, slamming the door out of frustration as he pulled out his cigarette, keeping it between his lips as he brought the lighter closer to lit it.
Once done, he inhaled very deep and blew out a smoke in the air, which circled around him. Just then, he saw a woman standing on the edge of bridge railing.
His eyes widened slightly, like what? How did that woman manage to climb up there? He clenched his jaw, thinking people are too weird these days. As he debated, if he should even save her or not. He was already going through a shitty day. Damn it all, he should just leave her to die.
He just let out a frustrated groan, because he moved forward when he noticed she was sobbing. He just didn't want to see a dead body now, he sees them all day.
He harshly grabbed that woman's hand, pulling her down as she ended up in his arms. She screamed as she tried to get off crying. She said, "l-leave me alone i-i wanna die"
Ohh God, now this bullshit was getting to him. He didn't let her go and didn't say anything either. She just melted in his arms, sobbing and hitting his chest.
He was regretting saving her at this point. He muttered gruffly, "I'll drop you home"
And somehow, that woman managed to get his contact before he drove her home.
As a few days passed, she'd constantly text him and even call him.. Okay, he wanted to block her so bad now, and that's the moment when one night, she started going on and on about how her boyfriend cheated her multiple times and she stayed.
He didn't know, but she'd also added up too many things. Deep down, he just felt some empathy for her. And one day, she confessed.
On the same day, she stood holding a bouquet of roses, fidgeting nervously. He didn't want to accept her proposal, but remembering the way he saw her first, the way she was ready to jump off the bridge and in tears.
He just accepted her, for the sake of empathy. He actually didn't harbor any feelings for her.
#𝙁𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨#
Over the years, he just tried to convince himself to love her and sometimes forced himself to think he loved her. But, those feelings just didn't come.
His heart wouldn't flutter at her. His breathe wouldn't hitch. He never wanted to do anything for her, he just forced himself to. Because, in his opinion, this was the only way to make her just feel loved.
And, he ended up appointing her as his PA when she applied. How could he say no to his '𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥' after all?
The word sounded too bitter on his tongue. He'd do things for her, but he never paid too much attention as if he wouldn't care even if she cheated.
Because he knew, his heart didn't want her, she wasn't the one for him.
Siya said, "is that for me, darling?". He nodded with a small smile, that never reached his ears. As he watched her sit up and take it from him.
Currently, he was just finding a few ways to tell her that he just wanted to end this now, she's in a way better condition now.
All because he helped her over the years to be confident, independent and everything else.
He was sure that now even if they parted ways, she wouldn't do something like that. He blames himself, for giving those fake hopes to her, for accepting her out of empathy.
𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵.
And certainly, he too knew that he never felt like wanting her.
He said, "I wanted to talk". He clenched his jaw, running a hand through his slick black hair as she looked up at him humming softly, but before he could even speak his phone rang.
He muttered a curse under his breath. Calmly, he accepted the call of his grandmother. God knows, why she called him. His grandma said, "Rudransh ghar aao abhi"
(Rudransh, be home now)
He hummed calmly, as he hang up moving towards the door and leaving for home. Hell, he didn't want to face Siya now, either way.
He cursed under his breath.
𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘥𝘢𝘥𝘪? 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘭𝘺?
He had to talk everything out with Siya. But he just couldn't bring himself to ignore his grandma and it better be something important that she called him home, at ths hour. He had left home just a few minutes ago.
He walked in the hall, only to see the whole family settled down on the couch, probably waiting for him. He clenched his jaw. He was seething now internally by just watching that damn smirk on his elder brother's face. He had always held grudges against him for everything.
Rajeshwari said, "Ranveer told us you have a girlfriend"
(Reminder - Rajeshwari is his grandmother and Ranveer is his elder cousin)
Rudransh froze midtrack even before taking a seat, this was something which he had kept a secret because all he was doing is helping siya, just like 3 years ago and today he was about to end the relationship.
But, how did Ranveer know about this? For Rudransh, the dots weren't connecting now. As far as he remembers, his and siya's relationship is so private that only a few close friends know and Ranveer was not one of them.
And, he knew the few friends that knew wouldn't dare do this but he still had to know. His eyes trailed at the smirk lingering on Ranveer's face as Rajeshwari interrupted sharply.
Rajeshwari hissed, "Rudransh, what is this? you never told us and you've a girlfriend despites you know I'm against of such relationships?"
(His grandma was a woman who still harbored old days thinkings, she never approved of relatonships)
The atmosphere was tense and the silence fell heave as Rajeshwari said, "So, it's the truth?"
Rudransh clenched his jaw, his shoulders remained tight as he nodded taking a sharp inhale which made Rajeshwari glare at him and hiss in disappointment as if he has committed something unholy and unacceptable.
Ranveer said, "Uhh, I just thought everyone should know what our Rudransh is doing." He said acting as if he was better. Now, this was getting on Rudransh's nerves.
Rajeshwari interrupted, "what is her laast name? her cast-"
Rudransh hissed through his teeth, "Kya fark padta hai dadi jab mai pasand kar chuka hun?"
(What difference does it make when I've already liked her)
Rajeshwari gasped at such words leaving from Rudransh's mouth. Ofc, Rudransh didn't mean those words but he just can't back off now from what Ranveer has already spilled.
God, he so badly wished to end everything with Siya today. But, guess he'll have to drag this relationship a bit more longer.
Rajeshwari said, "Are you planning on marrying-"
Rudransh interrupted , "Maa mujhe kaam hai mai chlata hun"
(Mom, I've work I'm leaving now)
Devika just nodded at her son, hiss father wasn't present here because he was abroad for some business.
(Reminder - Devika is Rudransh's mother)
Rajeshwari's taunts were unheard as Rudransh ignored her walking out of the mansion. He needed a smoke. He got into the car driving fast and furious road to wherever his mind wanted.
And, he finally applied brakes reaching nearby the forest. He dragged out a cigarette, holding it between his lips as he brought the lighter closer, lighting up the cigarette.

He took in a deep smoke, his lungs filling in with the smoke from the burning cigarette. As he let out a satisfied hum, and suddenly his mind drifted to the girl he met this morning.
A soft frown appeared on his face but his face was soon relaxed thinking about her kajal which was smeared a bit more, he stare down at his hand.
The same hand which held her dupatta and wrapped it around it's wrist. Her scared expression when she realized he was holding it, her stammer when she asked him to leave her dupatta, when she had said, "m-mera dupatta chhodiye"
A dark chuckle left his lips, his eyes filled with dark amusmement.
𝘚𝘰 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥.
𝘚𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵.
𝘚𝘰 𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘵.
He was drowning in the nasha (intoxication) of the cigarette as she lingered at the back of his mind so quietly, but unmistakably strongly.
